"Are we not perhaps all afraid in some way? If we let Christ enter fully into our lives, if we open ourselves totally to him, are we not afraid that He might take something away from us? Are we not perhaps afraid to give up something significant, something unique, something that makes life so beautiful? Do we not then risk ending up diminished and deprived of our freedom? And once again the Pope said: No! If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Only in this friendship do we experience beauty and liberation. And so, today, with great strength and great conviction, on the basis of long personal experience of life, I say to you, dear young people: Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ – and you will find true life. Amen." ~ Pope Benedict XVI

Interested?

We accept women from the ages of 20 to 35 years old who are in good physical and psychological health, and who have a generous heart to serve Christ and others.  If you are discerning a religious vocation and are interested in our community, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss the possibility of a visit.

Testimonies of some of our junior sisters:

Discernment Retreat:

We host Discernment Retreats once or twice a semester. They include talks on reliigous life, discernment, and our community as well as prayer, recreation and meals with the Sisters. We recommend these retreats for a first visit for those who are discerning religious life and feel attracted to our community.   They are usually held beginning on a Friday evening and closing Sunday afternoon. Our next Vocation Discernment Retreats are being held February 10th-12th, and April 13th-15th.

Come & See:

Those women who have been to a Vocation Discernment Retreat and are interested in living our way of life can contact us about the possibility of attending a Come and See experience.   A Come and See allows you to enter into the schedule and daily routine of the sisters.  These retreats are as well over a weekend but can be extended if desired. Our next Come and See Experiences are being held between January 9th-16th, March 9th-18th, and May 7th-14th.

This is a recent article written by one of our candidates, Katie Harris, published in the diocesan newspaper of Spokane, WA. : Vocation to Religious life ‘was born and nurtured in community’

Run to be A Nun! Here is an article about one of our novices who ran the PIttsburgh Marathon on May 2nd, 2010 to help pay off her loans. Five of our sisters ran the marathon relay-style with her.: Article from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette

One of our Sisters wrote a poem about the two vocations of marriage and religious life.  Her reflections come from  watching her identical twin sister grow into her vocation of marriage as she embraces her own vocation to religious life.  It is a beautiful comparison of the two vocations: Click here to view:  Love Lives by Sacrifice
