Two New Professed!!

So what causes two twenty- six year old Mid-Western, sanguine, extroverted, beautiful, Franciscan University graduates with seven siblings each to embrace such a counter-cultural life of poverty, chastity, and obedience in a world that puts the unchecked pursuit of money, sex, and power on such a sky-scraping pedestal? See the video below for the answer! It can also be viewed on YouTube.

July Community Time
In the beginning of July, we had 10 days of heartwarming, spiritually enriching ,sisterly bonding, and mind challenging time as a community together. Yes, we were all here together in our new big house! It was a GREAT JOY!We prayed, played, studied, and worked together. The theme was "Obedience of Love". We were enriched by Sr. Maureen Martin from the Apostles of the Sacred Heart who gave us some presentations on obedience as well as Sr. Gertrude Foley S.C. from the Sisters of Charity who gave us some food for thought on transition and how it affects us as a community and as individuals. The finally professed sisters had lots of meetings and discussions during the week and those in initial formation had some concentrated time of study. See below some snapshots from our week!

From Emily to... Sr. Agnes Thérèse!!
The Sisters praying over Sr. Agnes Therese
On August 13th, 2011Emily Davis entered the next phase of the "divine romance"... novitiate. She received the veil and the name "Sr. Agnes Thérèse". Her new name signifies the beginning of a new way of life in the same way a married woman takes on a new name when she embarks upon her new vocation.
